Fabrication of 3D Printed Composite Materials

Abstract:

This study investigates the fabrication of 3D printed composite materials using a Creality Ender 3D printer. Within 3D printing, composites are typically a combination of a thermoplastic base material (a matrix) and a reinforcing element. In this research we used PLA as matrix and Titanium Carbide microparticles & nanoparticles, Graphene, Iron Oxide, and NANO Gloop as reinforcing elements to determine what composites would best increase the tensile strength of 3D printed materials.
